How We Became Who We Are Today
Starboard Design was founded in 2009 to develop roller blinds and awnings that are both beautiful and high-performing, and was formally incorporated as Starboard Design Co.,Ltd. in 2012 to streamline our operations and service.
“Starboard” means the right-hand side of a ship — the side that steers, holds steady and moves toward its destination. It reflects how we work: building purposeful solutions with confidence.
Our team of professionals is led by management with a background in engineering, with expertise in mechanical systems, electrical systems and design , so we can analyse each customer’s needs and recommend solutions that balance technical performance and design — with a solid understanding of automation and smart-home systems.
We speak Thai, English and Chinese, and attend international trade fairs every year in Europe and Asia to keep up with the latest technology and design. You can be confident that Starboard Design delivers roller blinds, awnings and motor systems that are modern, beautiful and built for real-world use.
As we grew, we noticed the slowest part of a project was rarely the blinds themselves. It was the quoting, measuring and back-and-forth before work could even begin. So our engineers built Starboard Technology, our own in-house software, to make those steps fast and accurate. Today it’s part of every project we take on.
What’s next: in early 2027 we’re moving our office and factory to a new location, expanding our working space from 1,000 m² to 2,500 m² so we can take on more projects and offer even more products.
